Hey there! This is Pritish Naik. Welcome to my maritime portfolio!

I vividly remember the day I saw a ship for the first time, when one had run aground at Juhu beach in Mumbai, India. Something about its enormity sparked a curiosity within me! As a kid, I had only seen one in my school textbooks. How the hell did anyone even build one of these things? Or even think that such a thing could be possible?

I was a bright student at school, academically and also had an inclination towards technology. I carved my way through the junior college years and decided to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. When I was in my second semester at engineering, a group of my seniors from multiple disciplines had built a remotely operated underwater vehicle as their final thesis project. This later on was converted into a student team called The Marine Robotics Team. I worked with this team for 3 years whilst handling my academics. During this time, I found myself developing an entire robot submarine structure using CAD software. The curiosity for marine design grew further in me.

Two years of pandemic and several competitive exams later, I finally secured a chance to work at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd., a premier shipyard in India under the Ministry of Defence, that constructs warships and submarines for the Indian Navy. Watching the process of shipbuilding hands on has enhanced my knowledge in this field further more. But I believe there's more we can do!

Man has reached the heights of space and is even planning to travel there on a daily basis, but much of the depths of the sea are still unknown to humankind. And I wish to explore the same.

I love to meet new people everyday and hence, would love to connect with people who share super ideas!!
